This month we will be giving you a plastic free living tip everyday via our Facebook page. Small changes have a big effect and every action has an impact. We know there is a plastic problem, it’s washing up on our beaches, our marine life is eating it – and humans have started eating it, with shocking new research even proving we are breathing it.
So – get in behind Plastic Free July and make some small changes. Our future depends on it! We Humans are known to consume plastics via food and water, and to breathe them in, but the potential impact on human health is not yet known. The researchers expect to find the particles in human organs and have identified chemical traces of plastic in tissue. It’s time to take action.
The photo below was me picking up rubbish on a North Taranaki beach – within ten minutes I had tens of bottle caps – washing in repeatedly on the tides, it’s disgusting and it can be stopped at source.
